Turkiya Burslari Roadmap

Before applying to Turkiya Burslari what you have to have or be:

Be under the age of 21.

Have a minimum of 70% academic achievement (90% for medicine, dentistry, and pharmacy).

Being a graduate or graduating at the end of the current academic year (before August).

First step:

Create an account on turkiyeburslari.gov.tr and activate it via the email you receive.

Second step:

After logging in, enter the information required in the “Personal Information” section. Upload documents (an ID card or passport, a photograph of the candidate taken within the last year).

Third step:

Enter information about your family, address, social media links, and other contacts.

Fourth step:

In the education section, it is recommended to complete both middle school and high school information, but if you cannot provide the first one, it is OK. Enter your GPA and the location, name, and type of your school.

Fifth step:

Upload the middle school attestation (Shaxodatnoma for Uzbekistan) and transcript in Turkish or English. If you have already graduated from high school, upload your diploma and attestate with Eng/Turk English or Turkish transcript. If you haven’t graduated from school yet and you are currently in the middle of 11th grade, upload 10th (all) and 11th middle term (1st, 2nd quarter). It is the same condition with lyceum students (all semesters or three semesters, respectively). If you received any significant achievement during the education, upload it too.

Sixth step:

Select your native language from the provided ones, choose other languages, and upload a language certificate if you have any. If you are applying for programs with language instruction other than Turkish, you must provide a certificate (TOEFL, IELTS, DELF). If you know Turkish, choose yes and enter the details.

Seventh step:

Upload a CV and Work experience. Not required.

Eighth step:

Upload the results of international exams such as the SAT, GRE, and ALES. Not required.

Ninth step:

Enter information about your awards, projects, certificates, and volunteering activities. Also not required.

Tenth step:

If you have visited Turkiye before, specify your experience or choose No.

Eleventh step:

Once you are confident that you have provided all the required information and uploaded documents, go to the home page and find a bachelor’s degree. Press the APPLY button for the undergraduate scholarship program. Check the information and accept it.

Twelfth (Optional) step:

Choose a course and university. You can choose 12 universities and departments at most. Half of them can be chosen from big cities (Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir). Pay attention to your preferred order. You can choose different faculties if they are related. For example: international relations, political science, public administration, and economics. But not nuclear systems engineering and theology.

Thirteenth step:

Write a letter of intent. Write about your interest in the subject, your future plans, your motivation to study in Turkiye, and how scholarships can benefit you.

Fourteenth step:

If you want to add something, write it in the Additional Information section. It can be upcoming exams, scores, or any information that you find helpful during evaluation.

Fifteenth step:

Choose an interview location.

Sixteenth step:

Enter information about your teacher, counselor, or mentor and upload a recommendation letter.

Seventeenth (Optional) step:

If you are eligible to apply for joint scholarships (ISDB, NAMA), choose them. If you are not, skip this step.

Eighteenth step:

Review your application and submit it.

Nineteenth step:

Dates can differ, but usually in May you may receive an invitation for an interview. If you do not receive it, unfortunately, you are not chosen.

Twentieth step:

The test and interview will be held in a location that you choose. The test consists of mathematics, geometry, and logic questions. 60 minutes to complete the 30-question test.

Twenty-first step:

Face-to-face interviews will take place on the same day as the test. The interview, which usually lasts 15–30 minutes, is carried out in the following format: Welcome and entrance Check of documents Purpose of the candidate's application Academic knowledge and career goals Closing and candidate questions to the committee Candidates invited for the interview are required to bring all the documents and certificates of the latest education they have completed to the interview.

In July, you will get an email about whether you win the scholarship or not. If yes, Congratulations! I hope to meet you. If you get rejected, do not be upset; good luck next time. 😊✊
