Stipendium Hungaricum Roadmap
Before applying to SH what you have to have or be:
11th grade or 2nd year in lyceum or graduated from school
IELTS or TOEFL (6+ or 79+ respectively)
18 years old (for example, imagine that you apply for 2023/2024 academic year, then until 2024 year 31 august, you have to be 18 years old)
First step:
Create an account on apply.stipendiumhungaricum.hu, then complete your account settings
Second step:
Go to the “My Applications” tab menu
Third step:
Search universities to which you want to apply and find two programs that are the most suitable for you
Fourth step:
Go to the “My Applications” tab menu again. There you can see your application, which you have to complete. There are 11 tabs, like Profile, Contacts, and etc.
Fifth step:
Fill out all the necessary things, like essays, languages, and etc.
Sixth step:
Begin uploading your important documents, like the High School certificate.
Seventh step:
On the "Proof of foreign language proficiency" tab, upload IELTS 6+ or TOEFL 79+.
Eighth step:
On the "High school certificates" tab, upload your attestat (11th grade). If you haven’t graduated from school yet, upload a declaration stating that you will upload it when you get it.
Ninth step:
On the "Passport" tab, upload your red passport. If you haven’t gotten this one, upload your National ID and a declaration about uploading the red passport after you get it.
Tenth step:
On the "Transcript of records" tab, upload your transcripts (tabel) in the original and translation version of 10th and 11th grade (all quarters). If you haven’t graduated from school yet and you are currently in the middle of 11th grade, upload 10th (all) and 11th middle term (1st, 2nd quarter). It is the same condition for lyceum students (all semesters or 3 semesters respectively).
Eleventh step:
On the "Mandatory medical check-up" tab, fill out this file by doctors in Poliklinika and upload it with the results, like HIV, Hepatitis B, C. You can do this one after taking exams until 15th April.
Twelfth (Optional) step:
Upload your certificates, like Faxriy yorliq, Diplom, and etc., on the "Documents" tab.
Thirteenth step:
Review your application and submit it.
Fourteenth step:
In March, they will send you whether you are nominated or not. If yes, you will continue your journey. If not, don’t lose hope.
Fifteenth step:
After being nominated, take your exam at the end of March. You will take the first exam for your first choice, then for the second one. There will be two exams, which are written online and oral or face-to-face exams from your universities. Exams can be at the level of DTM, so prepare well. Sample questions can be found on the website of the university (for example - https://edu.unideb.hu/p/exam-topics-and-sample-tests / University of Debrecen).
Sixteenth step:
In June, you will receive an email whether you will be a holder of the Stipendium Hungaricum or not. If yes, congratulations and start your visa process. If not, it is not over until you win.
