My writing professor told us about her experience in GUQ as an admissions employee. Here  some takeaways from her talk:

-Personal statement is one of the most important factors in an applicant's profile. However, it is not the only factor that’s crucial. As long as it is goal driven and clear to understand, the essay would pass.

-Interviews are actually a very important part of the admissions process at Georgetown. There are things interviewers look to hear and see from the applicant:

Leadership - most activities and classes in GUQ are for preparing future leaders in many fields, so showing leadership qualities would lead to positive impressions.

Confidence - being confident while answering questions shows authenticity of the profile + it is one of the qualities that leadership includes.

Maturity - being able to live in a foreign country independently

English ability - fluency and expression of ideas

Two interviewers - sometimes, you may have two interviewers at the same time. Don’t be shocked. Just answer what they ask naturally.

Questions for the interviewer - be very clever while asking questions from the interviewer. Try to ask academic question that’s really meaningful

Honesty - don't lie. Most of the time, ideas do not add up and are not consistent with the application

Overall, don't worry about the process; try to be confident; smile and show you are the right candidate to get a chance to study at GUQ.
