At Bates, we have three student orientation programs that happen back-to-back. The last one, which involves a lot of physical activities, is the highly engaging AESOP trip. This program takes place in two beautiful locations: Maine and New Hampshire. These two states are renowned for their natural beauty in the U.S., and it is said that French-Canadian immigrants were attracted to the region because of this.

As a student-led program, AESOP provides numerous opportunities for students to connect and engage with one another during their transition to college life. The trips organized as part of AESOP cover various aspects of these two states, offering enjoyable activities and a chance to discover more about one another while spending three days together.

For my AESOP placement, I'm thrilled to have been assigned to a backpacking trip that will take us through the stunning White Mountains of New Hampshire and along the Appalachian Trail.

I can't wait to embark on this incredible journey. It's definitely going to be an experience to remember! ❤️
